(22) 8x10 silver gelatin contact prints of the construction of Coney Island’s Jetty in 1921 by Edward E Rutter (1883-1964) who was the official photographer for the Borough of Brooklyn. All prints are mounted to linen with 1” piece on the left to place in an album. All prints are identified with the plate number, date, and Rutters credit, which was made on the negative. The engineer surveyor neatly noted the coordinates on each image in black ink. Pencil notations on back noting details of the landscape. Some views show multiple men standing in sand next to the construction of Jetty while most show only the construction.
