(39) 8x10 silver gelatin contact prints of the construction of Coney Island’s Boardwalk and opening ceremonies by Edward E Rutter (1883-1964) who was the official photographer for the Borough of Brooklyn. All prints are mounted to linen with 1” piece on the left to place in an album. All prints are identified with the plate number, date, Rutters credit, and a description of each view which was made on the negative. Many views show large crowds celebrating, Brooklyn Borough President Riegel Mann, and construction of the boardwalk.
